Training
Training sessions provide therapeutic techniques to ensure that ABA procedures are applied effectively in order to reduce challenged behaviours and teach new skills. An individual with autism may display maladaptive behaviours or lack of skill as a result of the lack of knowledge and skills carried out by the person interacting with this individual.
Training sessions will discuss objectives, teaching procedures, and a demonstration on how to teach each acquisition target. Training sessions also include collecting data since behaviours occur through out a client’s day. Data taking will lead to better analysis and treatment decisions. Training sessions also include assessing the trainee’s skills and child’s progress in order to ensure positive outcomes over an extended period of time.
Training sessions can be provided to; new staff, staff who want to implement new procedures, parents of children waiting for funding/service or who are currently in service, and other professionals (daycare staff, educational assistant, teachers, group home staff members, etc.).
