Recommended number of hours of therapy will be determined based on your child’s assessment. Data will be taken on a daily basis, to ensure teaching is effective – that your child is making progress.
The Teaching procedures and Language and Communication-Based Interventions are applied based on the principles of ABA. They are as follows; Theory of Mind Training Incidental Teaching Errorless Teaching Natural Environmental Teaching (NET) Verbal Behaviour Approach (VB) - (echoics, mands, tacts, intraverbals) UCLA Model Discrete Trial Training (DTT) Task Analysis - Chaining Shaping Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Social Stories Social Script Training Direct Instruction Visual Supports (visual schedules, choice boards, first-then boards, Pictorial Task Analysis, token economies) Video Modeling Independent Activity Schedules Stimulus-Stimulus Pairing Such Teaching Procedures and Interventions are applied in order to teach skills such as; Social (communication) Skills Behavioural (compliance/defiance) Skills Play Skills Language Skills (sentence building and structures) Speech (oral motor/articulation) Academic Cognitive (Executive Functions - abstract concepts and vocabulary expansion, memory, thinking, planning, organizing) Motor (gross and fine) skills. Self-help School readiness Imitation –gross motor and fine motor Note: Some skills may be taught alongside other professionals such as Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists etc. Services are covered by many Insurance plans. |
