About Me.
Pina De Sousa (M.A.)
Since 2001, I have implemented Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Intervention Plans for children and adolescents (2 - 14 years old) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I have assessed learners' skills, trained and supervised parents and therapists and have designed IBI and ABA Intervention plans for children and adolescents with ASD. I have implemented many skills to learners, at different ages and at different cognitive abilities and have had the opportunity to witness and contribute enormously to their success stories. I have helped children with ASD successfully function in society, by overcoming many challenges which have been thought of by parents, as impossible to overcome! Since 2001, I have been trained and supervised by a Licensed ABA Psychologist (who specializes in designing and supervising ABA and IBI programs) and I have attended workshops and conferences in the field of ABA and ASD. I have completed the Autism and Behaviour Science graduate certificate program from Algonquin College. I hold a combined B.A Honours degree in Linguistics and Psychology and a Masters Degree in Applied Language Studies (thesis) from Carleton University. I am a Certified ESL teacher, who taught and developed curriculum for the ESL Department at a Community College. I have a passion for teaching learners with ASD and strive for quality programs to ensure that every child reaches their highest potential! I believe in individuals with ASD and that every learner has no limits in learning! |
